Hey, Hey! Ho, Ho! Vitter’s Gotta Go…Too!

Yes indeedie, we good, God-fearing Republicans are not going to let political expediency get in the way of acting righteously, now are we? Are we going to turn our collective back on Louisiana Congressman David Vitter’s confession of calling on call girls because he has said “I’m sorry” and because Gov. Blanco will appoint a nasty ol’ Democrat to replace him if he is ousted from Congress?  Senator Larry Craig says that he didn’t do anything wrong in the Minneapolis Mens’ Room, but only pled guilty for the sake of expediency…and we all seem to agree that he has to go.  Could it be because Idaho’s governor will appoint another good, God-fearing Republican to replace him?  Could it be…SATAN?

But seriously, folks, yours truly has a record of doing what’s right and not what’s without pain.  In 1998, I turned down an extra $3400/year because I had agreed to a five percent increase in salary.  When I went to sign the paper, I noticed the little several-percent boo-boo the HR person had made and pointed it out to her.  She at first refused to believe me, but I told her that my word was my bond and I would give her one more chance before I signed the paper.  She decided to redo the math.  And, rather than thank me for my display of rarely-seen-anymore honesty, she simply told me how glad she was that I caught her error — that she would’ve had to explain to her boss.

So…as I said, Vitter’s gotta go…too.  Or — to be consistent — Craig gets to stay…too.  It to me matters not which, for I am holier than neither thee nor thou.
